Kamalika Foundation

Turning a blind eye doesn’t make the problem go away. The mission of the Kamalika Foundation is to break the silence and to discuss and find ways to address the problem. We aim to start a debate on the plight of survivors of sexual violence by bringing the stories of these women on a public platform and breaking the culture of victim bashing.

My teenage cousin, Kamalika, committed suicide by jumping off a high-rise building in Kolkata, India. She did this because her school – the very institution that is expected to teach about morals and ethics – failed her.

To learn more about the case, the school’s behaviour, details and current status, please check the Facebook Page , Caravan Magazine, NDTV news & CNN-IBN News story.
